Not sure what’s happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better To The Stars gets. To The Stars simply put is one of Chick Corea’s best CDs to date.

I wish it weren’t the case but, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with To The Stars. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

One of the nicer things about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Jazz isn’t your favorite style you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

If you’re even mildly into Jazz music you’ll enjoy this CD. Overall To The Stars is an a great release. I give it my double thumbs up. You will not be disappointed with one single track.

While this entire CD is outstanding some of my favorites are track 6 – Johnny’s Landing, track 12 – The Long Passage, and gt3

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Check Blast. Outstanding!

To The Stars Release Notes:

Chick Corea originally released To The Stars on August 24, 2004 on the Stretch Records label.

CD Track List Follows:

1. Check Blast 2. Port View 1 3. Mistress Luck: A Portrait 4. Mistress Luck: The Party 5. Port View 2 6. Johnny’s Landing 7. Port View 3 8. Alan Corday 9. Port View 4 10. Hound of Heaven 11. Port View 5 12. Long Passage, The 13. Port View 6 14. Jocelyn: The Commander 15. Port View 7 16. Captain Jocelyn: Tribute By His Crew 17. Captain Jocelyn: The Pianist

Chick Corea Elektric Band: Frank Gambale (guitar); Eric Marienthal (saxophone); Chick Corea (piano, keyboards); John Patitucci (bass instrument); Dave Weckl (drums). Additional personnel: Gayle Moran Corea (vocals); Steve Wilson (saxophone); Pernell Saturnino (percussion).

Not sure what’s happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better From The Beginning gets. From The Beginning simply stated is one of Scott Hamilton’s best CDs to date.

Unfortunately, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with From The Beginning. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Scott Hamilton is one of those musicians that has the ability to just win you over with him talent. The kind of artist it’s really a treat to be able to listen to.

From The Beginning is a first rate CD, delivering a little something for everyone. I give it my highest recommendation. It’s quite simply great listening. A must buy if you’re even mildly into Jazz music.

While the entire CD is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 4 – Disc 1 – Exactly Like You, track 4 – Disc 2 – These Foolish Things Remind Me Of You, and gt3.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – That’s All. Great track!

From The Beginning Release Notes:

Scott Hamilton originally released From The Beginning on February 12, 2002 on the Concord Jazz label.

CD Track List Follows:

DISC 1: SCOTT HAMILTON IS A GOOD WIND WHO IS BLOWING US NO ILL: 1. That’s All 2. Indiana 3. Stuffy 4. Exactly Like You 5. Ill Wind 6. Broadway 7. Blue Room 8. Sometimes I’m Happy DISC 2: SCOTT HAMILTON 2: 1. East Of The Sun 2. There Is No Greater Love 3. Rough Ridin’ 4. These Foolish Things Remind Me Of You 5. I Want To Be Happy 6. Everything Happens To Me 7. Love Me Or Leave Me 8. Blues For The Players 9. Very Thought Of You, The 10. It Could Happen To You

Very talented Jazz artist Tina Brooks has released her latest CD titled True Blue and Wow! It’s really a good one.

Unfortunately, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with True Blue. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you’ve got one of Tina Brooks’s most impressive releases ever.

Listen to this CD and I believe you’ll find there’s not much to dis-like about it. The songs are inspired, the production is simply outstanding, and Tina Brooks is clearly in top form. So much so that if you’re even mildly into Jazz music you’ll enjoy this album.

While this entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 2 – Up Tight’s Creek, track 6 – Nothing Ever Changes My Love For You, and track 8 – Good Old Soul

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Good Old Soul. Good stuff!

True Blue Release Notes:

Tina Brooks originally released True Blue on February 15, 2005 on the Blue Note Records label.

CD Track List Follows:

1. Good Old Soul 2. Up Tight’s Creek 3. Theme For Doris 4. True Blue 5. Miss Hazel 6. Nothing Ever Changes My Love For You 7. True Blue – (alternate take) 8. Good Old Soul – (alternate take)

Personnel: Tina Brooks (tenor saxophone); Freddie Hubbard (trumpet); Duke Jordan (piano); Sam Jones (double bass); Art Taylor (drums).

Super talented Jazz artist Jim Brickman has released him most recent CD on the Windham Hill Records recording label, entitled Destiny.

This one grabs your attention right from the start with Part Of My Heart and doesn’t let go until the very last note of the very last song What We Believe In, which by the way is another great track.

These days it’s a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.

Overall Destiny is a solid release. Quite possibly Jim Brickman’s best to date. Really spectacular from beginning to end. If you’re even mildly into Jazz music you’ll enjoy this album.

While this entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 8 – Love Of My Life, track 10 – By Chance, and track 14 – What We Believe In

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Part Of My Heart. Great track!

Destiny Release Notes:

Jim Brickman originally released Destiny on January 26, 1999 on the Windham Hill Records label.

CD Track List Follows:
